![]() ![]() Perani since 2009 up to present is the President of the Italian Association for the Study of Judaism (AISG. Since 2003 up to July 2011 he was Member of the European Association for Jewish Studies (EAJS: Executive Committee, and President of the EAJS from 2006 to 2010. Researcher of Hebrew at the University of Bologna in the years 1996-1999, and Full Professor of Hebrew since 2000 to present at the Department of Cultural Heritage of Bologna University, in Ravenna Campus. Since 1977 to 1995 he was for 18 years Professor of Hebrew and Judaism at the Institute of Advanced Religious Studies in Bologna. In the summers 19 and then in the year 1983 he studied in Jerusalem with a scholarship of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He graduated newly getting a second MA in Oriental History at the Bologna University in 1982 with a thesis on "The Jewish presence in Sardinia". After obtaining the Diploma at the Classical High school “Ginnasio Liceo Classico Virgilio” in Mantua, he graduated in philosophy at Bologna University in July 1975 with a MA thesis on "The Hebrew conception of time. Mauro Perani was born in Castel Goffredo (Mantova) on 16 December 1949 from Bruno and Nelia Maria Mantovani.
